Services

Providing individual and couples therapy.

I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral concerns, both in individual and couples therapy.  In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, I offer an experienced, highly personalized approach tailored to each of my client's individual needs. My goal is to help you attain the healing, growth and connection with important others you desire.

Treatment specialization and concerns I regularly treat in my counseling practice include Anxiety, Depression, Mid-life Issues, Life Transitions, Couple Relationships, Healthy Communication and Conflict Resolution, Second Marriages and Blended Families, Infidelity and Affair Recovery, Divorce Recovery and Rebuilding, Substance Use Disorders, Codependency, Trauma and Abuse, Personality Disorders, Grief and Loss, and more.

Brainspotting

Brainspotting is a gentle yet powerful technique that works with a client’s visual field to access, process, and heal trauma in the brain and the body. Using BSP helps the therapist bypass the conscious, neocortical “thinking brain” to access the deeper, subcortical, emotional and body-based parts of the patient’s brain. Brainspotting facilitates a deep healing and can be effective for a wide variety of emotional and somatic conditions. As a supplemental tool in psychotherapy, BSP is particularly effective for treating trauma-based conditions as it helps identify and heal underlying trauma that contributes to anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, and other behavioral conditions. It can also be used for performance and creativity enhancement.

Couples Counseling

Do you feel like your relationship is at a standstill? Are you and your partner stuck in the same argument loop every night? Do you feel like you and your partner are drifting away? Do you desire more intimacy between you and your partner? All things can be improved, changed and bettered, with just a little support, no matter how big or small. With couples therapy, you’ll learn how to communicate your feelings and needs, and get what you want out of your relationship. In my couple’s therapy sessions, I help people develop the necessary skills needed to maintain sustaining love.

Divorce Recovery Therapy

Just as marriage is one of life’s most significant experiences, so is divorce. While recovering from divorce can be difficult, it’s not impossible. Divorce recovery therapy can help you cope with the emotional and mental toll that often comes with the end of a marriage. Working one-on-one with a therapist, you can learn to accept and address feelings of anger, sadness, anxiety, guilt or depression. Your therapist can help you find positive outlets to deal with your emotions. Therapy can help you process these emotions in a healthy way so that you can move past this moment of pain and sorrow and work to move forward in your life.

Individual Therapy

Are you having a difficult time handling the struggles in your life? Could you use an expert opinion on what you’re going through, or a non-judgmental ear just to listen? Do you think you could benefit the most from individualized attention? Are you hesitant to talk to others about your problems? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then individual therapy could be the solution you’ve been seeking. Individual therapy differs from Group or Alternative therapy methods in the way that you are the sole focus of a single therapist who helps you develop and achieve your goals for therapy.

Substance Abuse/Addiction

More often than not, substance abuse and addictions start with experimental use in social situations. As time passes, a person may feel the need to use more of a drug to get their desired high, and soon a person may need the drug to simply feel “okay.” As a licensed addiction counselor, I understand that there is often a lot to unpack when it comes to how a person can find themselves stuck in the whole of addiction.  I believe there are many potential paths to successful recovery.  I will work with your goals and desires to help ensure you can make the life changes you want to make.

Telehealth & Video Counseling

Do you need support, but can’t make it to an in-person appointment? Are you a busy stay-at-home or working parent, and don’t have the time to drive across town for an appointment? Do you live in a more rural area, or maybe you prefer to just do things Virtually? If so, we can help you through virtual therapy, or telehealth. Telehealth allows us to provide counseling and therapy to our clients via live video conferencing. This can be done anywhere you have a computer or smartphone.
